Ministers Are Noise Makers Was Just a Joke From Buhari : Garba Shehu

According to the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu the statement made by President buhari during an exclusive interview with France 24 TV Francois Picard, on Wednesday where he said that ministers are mere noise makers was meant to be a joke and shouldn’t be taken serious. Garba made this statement while speaking on AIT’s breakfast TV show KAKAAKI this morning.

According to shehu the president likes to crack jokes as a means of communicating with people, Nigerians are used to their previous Presidents being too formal but Nigerians should get used to the kind of president they now have.

On the president’s visit to France

It’s all about interaction with our neighbors who are all French speaking countries, if you want to get into the heart of francophone Africa you must go through France…He also confirmed that Nigeria in the past has never had any good relationship with its neighbors especially Cameroun whose President told Buhari that in the past he would call Nigerian government on the phone several times with no one replying nor getting back to them…but now he has somebody like Buhari in Abuja who he can trust...He also confirmed that France gave condition that any arms procurement from them must be subject to approval from their partners UK and US.

On Negotiation with Boko Haram

The president did not say there was a face to face discussion with Boko Haram, but that some group of patriotic Nigerians have been contacted by Boko Haram and that they are willing to surrender with their arms, but the President is asking them whether they are genuine Boko Haram commanders, the president gave conditions that without guarantees about the chibok girls then no need to negotiate.

On Inclusion of Women in this Administration

You can be sure that this Govt will be the fairest to women in this country.

On the Economy

People are being unfair when they say that they don’t know the direction the economy is going under President Buhari, the President just said he won’t devalue the naira…that's a clear economic blueprint, he campaigned with his party’s manifesto so people can always check this manifesto and see for themselves… the president promised to grow agriculture in this country so that people can have more money to purchase manufactured goods thereby injecting cash into the manufacturing sector.
