Our disagreement with Buhari on Ministerial List was a family affair–APC

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by its chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has said that it is the prerogative right of the President to select his cabinet members...The party has been ill at ease with some of President Buhari’s ministerial choices, before parliament was due to receive the list.

An emergency meeting of the NWC of the APC was called thereafter to discuss possible areas of disagreement with the president and other ills bedeviling the party...Pressed by newsmen after the emergency meeting on Monday, Odigie-Oyegun stopped short of relaying that the party had issues with Buhari’s list, while saying the prerogative eventually lies with the president regarding persons he’ll prefer to work with.

“We know that the President will do what he needs to do. What happened or did not happen between us and the President is a matter for the party as a family. It is a family affair, but he will do what he needs to do, when he needs to do it. You can trust him on that,” the APC chairman said.
